An Uneventful Stroll

An Uneventful Stroll is a quest for level 10-59 in Revendreth. It is step 9 of 11 in The Mad Duke storyline. The quest's turn-in marker is in Revendreth at 32.0, 47.6. It rewards 4 reward items, 10,050 experience and money.

Description

I hope I wasn't too unpleasant while under the Light's influence. I do try to restrain myself, but the pain it causes is... maddening.

Anyway, that tea picked me right up!

When I last saw Prince Renathal, the Master was dragging him off to that big tower looming over the Ember Ward.

Myself and a few others have been working to gain access to that tower from below, but there are... obstacles.

When you're ready to depart, I will lead you to our headquarters of sorts, the Sanctuary of the Mad.

This quest I feel is a nod to "Alice in Wonderland" with Theotar being the Mad Hatter, Lady Sybille being the door mouse, and Gubbins and Tubbins being Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum.

Edit: This whole zone seems to be. An NPC named Vorpallia that happens to be a sword then you jump through a swirling portal? When do we meet Absolem, the Hookah smoking Caterpillar?

In case you want to read it altogether, here's the dialogue that occurs during this quest with significant actions in < >.

Spoiler
Tubbins: Tea always make Theotar feel good. Wakey, wakey...
<Tubbins makes Theotar drink the tea.>
Theotar: Hello, darkness, my old friend...
<Theotar wakes up, just as mad as before.>
Theotar: My dear Tubbins! Those extravagant new flavors almost make the pain bearable. Gubbins, I presume you've reconstructed my parasol by now?
Gubbins: Yes! Gubbins do good!
Theotar: Indeed you do, my friend. More than most.

<Theotar agrees to lead you to Sinfall via the Sanctuary of the Mad.>
Theotar: It is a beautiful day for a stroll. Will you be joining us, Lady Sybille?
Lost Sybille: Shrouded turn when ruins burn. They will learn.
Theotar: Delightful! Let's take the scenic route.

<You continue up the path. Shrouded Marauders ambush you as you progress.>
Theotar: A little more shade, Gubbins.
Shrouded Marauder: Is that all there is to death?
Theotar: No one talks about how rude the Light is... It is very rude!

<You continue up the path. You encounter Shrouded Marauders again.>
Theotar: Those shrouded ruffians are quite the bother!
<Theotar comes across Blisterback (his stone hound).>
Theotar: Ah, there you are, Blisterback! Such a good pup. Let me patch you up real quick.
<He infuses it with anima to wake it up. Blisterback growls in acknowledgement of its master.>

<You continue up the path. You encounter Shrouded Marauders again.>
Theotar: Tubbins, some tea while we wait.
Theotar: There lies the ruffians' lair, up on the hill. The Shrouded Asylum.

<You continue up the path. You encounter Shrouded Marauders again.>
Lost Sybille: Lost shards and lazy guards in our backyards... <She cackles mischievously.>
Theotar: It seems they have sent another emissary to welcome us, as is their custom.
Theotar: We needn't dawdle. Some of my favorite strolls have been sprints.

<You continue up the path. You encounter Shrouded Marauders again.>
Theotar: Tubbins, some tea while we wait.

<You continue up the path. You are ambushed once again.>
Marquis Shattereye: You should have stayed in your fancy little tea parlor, Theotar!
Theotar: It IS quite fancy isn't it? Yes, thank you for noticing, marquis...
Marquis Shattereye: None of us will escape... the Ember Ward...
Theotar: And a good day to you as well, marquis. We must be off!

<You continue up the path.>
Theotar: This has been quite the scintillating stroll!
<Finally you reach the Sanctuary of the Mad, but it is guarded.>
Theotar: The sanctuary is close ahead. Allow me to do the talking.
Lost Sybille: Empty hull is never full, always dull.
Theotar: Ah, yes. My mistake. Please allow Lady Sybille to do the talking.

<Your party approaches the gate.>
Mad Ward: Son. Sin. Sun.
Lost Sybille: One. Kin. Won.
<She continues up the path, unhindered.>
Theotar: Fun... twin... uh... We are all with her, thank you.
<Your party rushes past the Mad Ward and into a fairly intact building nearby.>
Vulca: Charred shards! It's good to see you, Sybille.
Theotar: Oh, I love happy reunions! Let's all drink some tea!
<Theotar takes a slow sip from his tea cup.>
