I was able to obtain the final quest of the death knight order hall campaign without doing this quest. I had to obtain the maul though.

Eye of Azshara: The Frozen Soul

For those confused since so few read their quest logs; the map and quest summary say to get the item from the Wrath of Azshara, this is not very clear unless you read the quest text. As the quest log states, you need to travel into the Eye of Azshara dungeon and retrieve the Frozen Soul Pendant from the dungeon boss Wrath of Azshara. I came here to post this after I got several whispers from other players asking what they should do for this quest and telling me there is nothing on wowhead about it. I hope this helps.
It also drops in normal mode.

Description
Ah, Deathlord. It is good to see you. I happen to have a fascinating task for you, should you be in the mood for adventure. I recently came across an obscure reference to an ancient amulet that was created by Queen Azshara herself! It is called the Frozen Soul Pendant and it offers tremendous power to those who channel the power of frost. I have reason to believe that it may be found somewhere within the Eye of Azshara. Retrieve the pendant for me, and it will prove most useful in my studies.
