Heavy Artillery

Heavy Artillery is an Alliance-only quest for level 30-60 in Stormsong Valley. It is step 4 of 4 in the Reclaiming Brennadam storyline, the final step. The quest's turn-in marker is in Stormsong Valley at 57.6, 66.5. It rewards 8 reward items, 1 reputation reward, 10,200 experience and money.

Description

Bad news, friend. They're bringing in serious firepower now.

We've spotted a tank on the northern hill by the windmill. They can reach the other side of the town from there. We can't let them set it up.

What do you say to giving them a taste of their own medicine? If you can take out their commander, you'd have a fancy new tank all to yourself. Imagine the mayhem you could unleash on their invasion!

I had to kill two engineers near the tank to get Wormwood to spawn.
This was slightly NW of the circled area on the quest map.
Once Wormwood is dead, click on the tank to mount it.
Use its abilities to fire on packs of mobs to the north and west until you reach 100% objective fulfilled.
Then (you will be instructed) click the "Self-Destruct" ability.
The explosion will blast you back to the turn-in area.

Bugged in 11.2.5 - the infantry and cavalry don't take damage, so you have to kill Demolishers or Siege Towers which give 6% progress apiece. Iffy as to whether you can kill Demos that are moving, best to just focus on the ones that stay put. Also unlike most other bombing or artillery quests, the Experimental War Machine doesn't seem to gear with level or iLvl, which is quite odd.

if the tank becomes unresponsive after having killed enough horde and you can't press self destruct, just leave the vehicle and re-enter. You will only have to use the self destruct button as it won't reset your previous kill count.
