Lightning Crashes is a quest for level 50 in Vale of Eternal Blossoms, added in Battle for Azeroth. It rewards 6,800 experience and money.
The Zan-Tien like to claim mastery over the power of storms, yet they resort to machines to harness lightning from the sky.
Show these pretenders that the true power of storm and thunder comes from within. Break their toys, and see how they fare without.

Another poorly designed quest. Click the item and it despawns and since there's only a limited amount over the entire zone this ends up being simply frustration, not fun.
Blizzard should learn the difference.
Utterly confused by this quest. Picked up in The Silent Sanctuary - from [npc=154444] - and the map directed me to the Golden Stair (on the far side of the map), specifically a 'triangle' bounded by 39.5,16.0 / 44.5,15.5 / 41.5,22.0.
On reaching this area, there were Pillars of Storms to be found, wandering Onyz Warserpents and other random sources of lightning, but no Lightning 'Rods' anywhere.
Heading back to Mistfall Village, right next to the starting point, there the Rods are! Demolished the three I could find; waited one minute and got them as they re-spawned. Job done. Weird.

Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

TheWoWDB/way #1530 44.7 73.9Map coordinates of the pins above. An area the client draws as a shape is given by the centre of its points.
Quests whose map markers the client places closest to this one on Vale of Eternal Blossoms, nearest first. Distances are straight lines between the markers.
Flight points closest to the quest’s first objective area marker on Vale of Eternal Blossoms:
Straight-line distances in yards between the quest’s own map markers (QuestPOI) and the client’s flight-point positions (TaxiNodes); flight paths and terrain are not modelled.
First seen in build 12.0.7.68887 (Midnight patch 12.0.7, the oldest build in our datamine).
Steps, storylines and map placement from the client’s QuestLine, prerequisite and QuestPOI data; neighbouring quest text is Blizzard’s own (quest API), shortened to its opening sentences.
