Don't panic when you can't click the totems, killing the mobs will net you some satyr horns which you can use to destroy them. It's not broken :)
To be more specific, only the Darkfiend Despoilers drop the horns (at least this was my experience) and they don't drop every time. I found it to be more like 1 per 3-4 kills. The respawn rate and small area the quest covers doesn't make it a very efficient quest to do. Even if you can't get the horns for the totems, there aren't many things to kill to move the percentage up.
