Overseer Idra'kess (Horde)

Overseer Idra'kess is a Horde-only quest for level 30-35 in Shimmering Expanse. It is step 89 of 149 in the Vashj'ir, Kelp'thar Forest & Shimmering Expanse storyline. It rewards 3 reward items, 2 reputation rewards, 7,200 experience and money.

Description

My men are flagging, <name>. We won't last much longer against these naga, I'm afraid. With the Idra'kess' weapons, and Nespirah's pearls, we should be ready to bust out of here.

Follow the wall northeast, and look for a ramp to the upper chamber. I assume their leader is in there, or perhaps the key to Nespirah's awakening. Hopefully both.

If you feel strong enough, head up to the top of the shell and look for some answers. Hellscream's eyes are upon you!

Follow the outer rim anti-clockwise until reaching a circular corridor heading upwards. You will come out in a large circular room with a big circular thing in the middle. To the rear you will find Overseer Idra'kess (80 elite) and two caster naga. Take down the two casters first then focus on Overseer Idra'kess. When he's down to half health, he will spawn a protection sphere that absorbs most of your damage and channels a spell on Nespirah. A circle of of abscesses will spawn around the bubble. Attack the abscesses to weaken the shield, and then finish him off.

  • Still ValuableShimmering Expanse · Level 30-35

My time in the pearl pits, however short, has made me curious about the naga's goals. Yes, I now know that the naga want to use Nespirah as an engine of war, but if that's the case, then why are they enslaving men to mine her pearls?

After this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • Waking the BeastShimmering Expanse · Level 30-35

Thanks to you and the Legionnaire, Nespirah has full control of her body... but most of the naga don't know this yet. Once we make our escape, she will activate her biological defenses and destroy the naga from within. Make yourself ready... I will now tell Nespirah to begin the countdown.
