As kosridge said on a comment reply above, don't bother with grappling. If you just ride out on the ridge south of Haustvald to the little settlement at the tip, Inkbinder's Rise, you can take a little path on the northeast side of the village right up to the ore. No need to even dismount.
Go to Haustvald, grapple up to the point at 74,42 and use the foliage to rapidly jump up with a mount, and there you go.
