Just pulled mine from the Lagoon Basilisks in Aszuna, pretty easy to farm on the north side of the Nar'thalas Academy lake.

Must have completed The Legend of Rethu Ironhorn (quest chain starts with The Highmountain Tauren) for [item=124494] to drop. This horn drops from mining the corpse of a leystone creature.
Similar quests include:
- Rethu's Journal which is started by mining [item=124492] from a leystone deposit and
- Rethu's Pick which is started by mining [item=124493] from a leystone seam.
The felslate equivalents require completing Darkheart Thicket: Nal'ryssa's Sisters (quest chain starts with The Felsmiths).
Got mine relatively quickly here as well. Thanks for the tip. Recommend farming the Lagoon Basilisks west to east, starting at 53.7, 33.26. Even pulling 4-5 at a time and then running back to the start, they will have mostly respawned. Quick ride from Azurewing Repose, Azsuna: /way 53.7, 33.26

Description
The corpse of the rocky beast yielded an unusual treasure: a battered chunk of tauren's horn. It is clearly very, very old, but something about its color and curve reminds you of Ronos Ironhorn at the Ironhorn Enclave.
Where to go
Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

Where this quest fits
Before this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- Rethu's Pick
This seam has been mined before - it bears the telltale diagonal ruts of a miner's pick. Looking down, that pick now lays on the ground - handle broken, pick-point dulled with use and years. Carved into the haft is a familiar name: "Rethu"
After this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- Rethu's Lesson
You... miner... let me see your pick a moment. <The tauren spirit eyes your mining equipment.> You remind me of myself, when I once walked this land. Savor these moments, miner. They cannot last forever. <With a bow, the spirit disappears.>
