I would be willing to pay quite a lot for only 5 mins (in a place with no witnesses!) with the idiot who came up with this quest.

- Kill Hulking abominations around 69,62.
- Loot the Chilled abomination guts
- Use your Abomination Reanimation Kit
- Explode the controlled abomination in the questmobs around 67, 61
I found this to be quite a different experience for me than others have described it. Here is what I did.
1. Kill an abomination, loot it for the guts.
2. Fly to a point near the battlefield, checking to make sure there are no nearby mobs to aggro.
3. Summon the pet abomination.
4. Select the pet and set focus on it so you can always see its health.
5. Select a mob in the battle area, press CTRL-1 to have the pet attack. Select the farthest away mob you can see.
6. On the way to the mob you told the pet to attack, it will aggro other mobs.
7. Pay attention to the pet's health. If it gets too low, explode it immediately with CTRL-5.
8. If the pet makes it to the mob you told it to attack with some health left, select another mob it hasn't aggro'd yet and make the pet attack that. Repeat from Step 6 until you explode the pet.Be aware that if there were any mobs that aggro'd the pet but did not get exploded, they may start coming after you next.
Now some people have said things about "being close enough to the mob to credit for its explosion". I can tell you that I just did this exactly as I described and got credit, despite being outside the battle area. I don't know if that was an old problem that was fixed or changed, but what I have just described does work at this time.
Hope that helps.

What to do
Description
Abominations... They can be a very capable enemy. I've seen them turn the tide of battle more than once. What few realize, is that they can also be very capable friends. They are not deep thinkers. If you know the secrets of their creation, you can issue them basic orders that they will not question. Fortunately for you, I know these secrets. This kit will reanimate the remains of the abominations you defeat. Take it, and learn to use them against the Scourge on the death gate.

Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

Where this quest fits
Before this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- Poke and Prod
As someone of your experience must surely know, there's no better way to familiarize one's self with their enemy than by confronting them in combat. While you no doubt lust for the glory of taking Icecrown Citadel, that cannot happen without taking each of the Lich King's gates first.
After this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- Against the Giants
While it's going to be crucial to defeat the Scourge on the ground, we mustn't neglect the gate itself. The flesh giants on the ramparts are capable of hurling massive boulders and chunks of ice, inflicting devastating damage to enemy infantry below. Muster a force and defeat these giants.
