90% of the times the totem doesn't appear because it spawns in the he slanted terrain. Another untested quest. Be patient and keep on clicking. Binding an interaction key myght make things easier.

So in order to make this work, I had to
1. Accept the quest from the cache
2. Fly far away and come back
3. Accept the quest from Roska
4. Fly far away and come back.
5. Accept the dialog to start the quest.
Only then did the whole interface appearoh and only when there was no one else trying at the same time.
REALLY BLIZ, DID YOU TEST THIS BUGGY MESS BEFORE PUTTING IT OUT?
My problem is that I can get the totem to spawn but I can't start digging. Edit: Ok, I had to drop the quest, fly away, fly back and then pick it up again for it to work.

Description
<This barrel is salt-encrusted and buried amongst the rubble but remarkably intact. It looks like the sort of mundane cache that villagers would use to store goods, but no one has lived here for thousands of years. Could there still be something inside? Roska will want to have a look at this!>
Where to go
Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

Where this quest fits
Before this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- Surveying the Cliffside
Nothing like brisk ocean air to get you in the mood to dig! We're standing in the rubble of an ancient dragonkin fishing village. These dragonkin were ancestors of the blue dragonkin that live on the island today.
After this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- A Taste of the Past
Usually, we go to great lengths to avoid busting artifacts open, but I think in this case we'll learn more about the past from what's inside than just staring at a sealed barrel. That said, there's someone we should get permission from first. It's her history, after all.
