Vess-Guard Duty is a quest for level 30-35 in Dread Wastes. The quest's turn-in marker is in Dread Wastes at 55.0, 35.9. It rewards 1 reputation reward, 4,800 experience and money.
Vess-Guard Vik'az co-ordinates the defense forces at Zan'vess. He is worth ten mantid in battle, and his presence inspires the Zan'thik who fight alongside him.
Needless to say, we need him dead.
He patrols the housing area at the center of the island.

Vess-Guard Vik'az is a fairly straightforward fight. He walks about in the open with little risk of running into adds. It's a movement fight for melee, though, so keep your head level.
He uses whirlwinds as his most common attack, but also sets down a Whirling Blade. Its area of effect is actually a bit larger than the animation seems to indicate (at least so I thought), so until you get a feel for it, better stand an extra yard or two away. The effect doesn't move with him, so just get out of the area and don't go back in, as it lays down quite a whack over its duration.
He is NOT marked as a boss on the map. You'll find him around coordinates 29, 75. He doesn't move too far, just sticks around the houses.
if he is disarmed when he casts whirling blade, he goes to cast it again and will repeat casting it until his weapon returns(the spell does not succeed).

These Mantid Elders are untouched by the corruption and insanity that has overtaken the remainder of the Mantid Swarm. They seek to work with the races of Pandaria to restore their Queen to glory.
Reputation group: Mists of Pandaria.
Other quests in Dread Wastes that reward The Klaxxi reputation: Psycho Mantid (+250), Preserved in Amber (+500), Wakening Sickness (+250), The Klaxxi Council (+250), Kunchong Treats (+130), Fires and Fears of Old (+500).
Possession of the Lesser Charms of Good Fortune will result in great happiness and the eventual conversion into Warforged Seals, which allow players to risk a coin to receive a bonus reward from raid encounters.
