The robot will fill its tanks when it touches a green pond. What to do next took me a few minutes to figure out. There are spots of scum floating on the ponds. Take your robot to those. Simple once you spot the scum. Enjoy!

Make sure to pick up What's Left Behind while doing this quest, from Tock Sprysocket to the northwest of Engineer Grindspark. Then head southwest to get Dealing with the Fallout, from Corporal Fizzwhistle, behind the building with the mailbox outside.

Then simply run around The Toxic Airfield, dragging your Multi-Bot to the "spots of scum floating on the pond" as noted by Donnovan, killing all the Living Contamination and Toxic Sludge you encounter.

If you lose your GS-9x Multi-Bot, return to Engineer Grindspark for a new one.

This quest has no followup, but turning in Dealing With the Fallout leads to What's Keeping Jessup? from Captain Tread Sparknozzle, located by High Tinker Mekkatorque.

Also, by the time you get this quest - or maybe after turning it in, you should hopefully be level 3. Make sure to visit your class trainer to pick up their next quest and train your new ability.

Description

If the multi-bot works, it will help us do all kinds of jobs that are unpleasant or dangerous for us gnomes! After Thermaplugg detonated his irradiator at the end of Operation: Gnomeregan, toxic clouds and ooze began bubbling up at the old airfield south of town. If we don't get it under control, the contamination could spread to the rest of our lands. Take the multi-bot with you, and bring it close to the geysers in the green pools at the Toxic Airfield. Your bot should spring into action!

Where this quest fits

Before this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • Scrounging for PartsNew Tinkertown · Level 1-10

There's just too much to do around here, and too few gnomes on their feet to help! The high tinker has asked me to start converting some of our old bots and parts from Operation: Gnomeregan. I hope to have a new line of multi-bots ready for a field test soon!

After this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • What's Left BehindNew Tinkertown · Level 1-10

Most of us have seen the sickly and deranged gnomes suffering from exposure to the poisons and radiation of Gnomeregan. Eventually, they will devolve further, until they become mindless, but mostly harmless, puddles of toxic sludge.

The storyline at a glance

Gnomeregan has 37 steps, from Pinned Down to On to Kharanos.

Maps its steps are placed on (steps per map): New Tinkertown (30), New Tinkertown (5), Dun Morogh (2).
