For those whom can't see the quest giver return: DISMOUNT.

For all of those commentors who saw the quest giver again logging, attacking or being attacked, or after after entering and exiting a building: It's because doing those things makes you dismount.

For anyone doing the loremaster achievement, I completed this quest but found I was only at 40/55 and there was no follow on quest. Both npc's were still with me but I wasn't sure why. I flew all around and even read advice on here but nothing helped me. If you're in the same boat then let me suggest what I eventually did....

You are supposed to go on foot from the building to the left of Emberstone Mine and follow the path down towards where Godfrey's body is. As you leave through the gates you automatically get a quest assigned to kill 20 worgens. It was when I'd done that and handed it in that they both disappeared so I returned to the location of Godfrey's body and they were waiting for me there to continue on the next quest.

Description

Lord Vincent Godfrey spent his life defending the kingdom of Gilneas. When the worgen curse ravaged this land, Godfrey was one of the first Gilneans to take up arms against the beasts. It is said that upon discovering that his king was afflicted by the curse, Godfrey took his own life. He would rather be dead than serve the very creatures that he had defended his home against. We are going to give him a second chance, {name}. Together we will battle southeast towards Tempest's Reach to collect his corpse.
