Adder Subtraction

Adder Subtraction is a quest for level 10-30 in Southern Barrens. It is step 34 of 89 in the Southern Barrens storyline. The quest's turn-in marker is in Southern Barrens at 50.3, 40.4. It rewards 4,100 experience and money.

Description

The corruption unleashed here must be studied if we're to find a way of properly fighting it.

Luckily, not all the creatures have been as altered as others. The smaller snakes drink little water, and do not eat plants, so their exposure to the energies here has been minimal. They've still absorbed enough to change coloration.

Go collect these snakes from the overgrowth and return them to me, so we can see just what is happening to the creatures here.

Keep in mind, names for critters (they are snakes) are defaulted to not show, so simply press ESC-> Interface -> Names -> Critters/Companions. Doing this, will make finding the snakes significantly faster.

Also, you're not supposed to kill them, you loot them.

Doing this quest now to get all the older quests out of the way. First 5 snakes I killed while right clicking to loot until I realized I had my Arcane Familiar activated.

So, here's a pro tip: check your buffs in order to prevent auto attacks.

This and @12447's script works wonders.

  • Biological InterventionSouthern Barrens · Level 10-30

The energies unleashed here have surged through the wildlife, twisting them into powerful and unstable forms. If allowed to spread beyond this grove, these deviates will wreak havoc on the existing ecosystem, devouring local prey and driving out the weaker natural creatures.

  • Lashvine SeedsSouthern Barrens · Level 10-30

There's got to be a way to cure these poor creatures without having to take their lives. I have an idea, but I'll need your help, <class>. The lashvine plants that roam here hold seeds full of the primal energy of this place.
