I had the same problem. There was no flag next to the point but as you probably noticed other faction has the same quest so you can go across the road and voila! They have exactly the same tower with the flag we need :) You can capture it and finish the quest.

"I told you guys, fight ON THE FLAG!"
If you can't find the flag at the location where it is marked go south on the main road and you will see another tower just south of the Ruins Of Taurajo, on the right hand side.
TomTom Coords are: /way 46.26 56.74 - South Tower FlagThere are four waves of fighters. Focus on the ones trying to cap the flag. The defenders will take care of the rest. Stay next to flag till quest is completed. - and have fun dammit! :)

What to do
Description
The Alliance scorches a trail of murder across the Barrens. We must stop them here or there is nothing left for us. Across the Fields of Blood there are a number of strategic hills, marked by wooden towers and neutral gray banners. We must take and hold these hills if we hope to slow the Alliance advance! Look for the towers to the north, east, and south of what's left of Taurajo. Claim a neutral flag and defend the hill against counterattack!

Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

Before this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- Working the Bugs Out
Why high command decided that a silithid mound was the ideal place to build a fortress, I'll never know. Them lil' buggers are tunneling under our fortifications and setting back our timetables. We need to scorch 'em out!
After this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- Meet the New Boss
Our defense of the Barrens hasn't gone well under Gar'dul's command, <name>. Garrosh has sent Warlord Bloodhilt here to take control of the situation. He's here in camp, and if you want to make a good impression, you'll demonstrate some initiative.
