TheWoWDBShadowlands The Threads of Fate leveling uses a similar breadcrumb system as Legion did; you start by getting a quest to choose a zone to support, after completing it and returning to Oribos you get another breadcrumb quest to choose another, etc. If you complete any zones that you did not select for the breadcrumb quest(s), you 'lose' one breadcrumb quest, going from bottom to the top. Mind that the quest labeling reflects the 'importance' of these quests. Only Aiding the Shadowlands, main area quests and the Oribos return quests are labeled as storyline. The others as normal quests, as they're just there to lead you into the right direction.
If you follow the ToF leveling as if you were doing the campaign, so Bastion > Maldraxxus > Ardenweald > Revendreth, the chain of quests is as follows:
- Aiding the Shadowlands > The Elysian Fields or The Elysian Fields (Kyrian) > Bolstering Bastion > [quest=62729]
- The Next Step > A Fresh Blade or [quest=63035] (Necrolord) > Rallying Maldraxxus > [quest=62761]
- [quest=63209] > Restoring Balance or Restoring Balance (Night Fae) > Support the Court > Return to Oribos
- The Last Step > Dark Aspirations or Dark Aspirations (Venthyr) > Reinforcing Revendreth > [quest=62779]
Regardless, you can mix this this up freely, minding the following restrictions:
- ToF will continue after 60, allowing you to get the additional Renown (changed in 9.0.5).
Hitting 60, you lose all of these quests as the Covenant campaign will start.- You'll lose access to one of main the breadcrumb quests if you complete a zone quest that you didn't pick after said quest.
- If you didn't do it yet and aren't on the breadcrumb quest, you'll get the main quest when entering a zone. If you complete it you lose access to the zone's breadcrumb quest.

Cannot seem to turn this in no matter what I do. It does not register the selection of one of the areas.
I'm leveling an alt in 2023, and at level 50 I started Shadowlands expecting of be offered Threads If Fate in Oribos (like the other alts I've leveled) but sadly Blizzard has removed that option for level 50 characters. The ONLY option for me was to start Shadowlands with a quest-line in Bastion. However, at the end of the VERY lengthy Bastion quest-line it looked like my only option was to join the Kyran. I asked in the wow CS forum how I could choose Night Fae (I didn't want Kyran covenant) and I was told I had to level to 60 before I could get the "Threads Of Fate" option and choose the Night Fae covenant. However, thru this whole process I was never offered the quest "Aiding The Shadowlands". Now my character is level 60 and the only thing I can do in Shadowlands are world quests. It boggles the mind why they changed this.
