A Glimpse into Darkness

A Glimpse into Darkness is a quest for level 50-60 in Oribos. It is step 5 of 5 in The Empty Throne storyline, the final step. The quest's turn-in marker is in Oribos at 40.0, 68.6. It rewards 1 reward item, 8,150 experience and money.

Description

When I put the Lich King's crown upon my head, I wanted the world to believe I was dead. Even my daughter, Taelia. I... thought a lie would be kinder than the truth.

But she is no longer the little girl I left in Kul Tiras. I see my choice was a selfish one.

<Bolvar pauses.>

She and Lady Menethil have asked me to peer into the Maw to see if our allies yet live. It is a dangerous request, but one I cannot refuse.

Help me focus on the broken helm. Together, we may find a glimpse of truth.

Spoiler
When you accept the quest:
[npc=173384] says: The broken Helm still resonates with the power of the Lich King. The power... of the Maw.

Click on the Lich King helm to hopefully watch an "awesome cutscene" where Jaina and Thrall are shown to be still alive; and Sylvanas and the Jailer are aware of your activities.
Once the cutscene is over:

Highlord Bolvar Fordragon says: That is... all I can see. It is... too dangerous to push further.
[npc=173388] says: I could make out the Lord Admiral's voice, and what must have been Thrall's as well. Their cries... they chilled me to the bone!
[npc=173386] says: I did not hear Anduin, nor Baine Bloodhoof. Highlord, are you certain you cannot try again?
Highlord Bolvar Fordragon says: Not yet, Calia. There is a price to be paid for such visions. I dare not attempt another so soon.
[npc=159478] says: Highlord, this mortal bears an urgent warning from the Primus of Maldraxxus. They must see it delivered to the other realms.
Highlord Bolvar Fordragon says: Please aid them, Honored Voice, while I talk with the others. We must consider the implications of what we've seen.

Where to go

Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

The information you uncovered in Maldraxxus should quell the drums of war between the Necrolords and the Kyrian. And this message from the Primus... extraordinary! I would advise you to enlist Highlord Fordragon's counsel, but he appears preoccupied.
