Concentrated Fear

Concentrated Fear is a quest for level 30-35 in Dread Wastes. It is step 15 of 72 in the Dread Wastes storyline. The quest's turn-in marker is in Dread Wastes at 55.0, 35.5. It rewards 4,800 experience and money.

Description

Amber is power. It brings life.

This... dread amber you brought me has been twisted. It is concentrated fear.

The Vor'thik know this well. Their kypari has been completely engulfed by sha, and they use the dread amber to quicken their own swarmborn.

Bring me the crystals used by the Vor'thik fear-shapers in their rituals. The Klaxxi will study them and decide on a protocol for disposal.

The [spell=128098] that [npc=62814] uses is miserable in this area because of the proximity of lots of other mobs. It can be interrupted or you can use stuns or silence to keep from pulling the whole area. They use it enough that using a [spell=42292] isn't going to cut it, although an Undead may have better luck because they have Will of the Forsaken.

First of all the drop rate is in no way fixed and that goes for several quests in this zone. And yes, the fear here is very miserable unless you're doing this as a group.

After over 1500 quests I just don't have the patience anymore.

Before this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • The DreadswornDread Wastes · Level 30-35

The Klaxxi see far and hear much. They have shared their insight with me. The Vor'thik embrace the sha, using its power to fuel their march in this false swarm. Their warriors consume tainted amber and call themselves dreadsworn. There is no future for them. They are waste which needs disposing.

After this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • Citizens of a New EmpireDread Wastes · Level 30-35

At Shek'zeer's command, the great kypari tree of Kypari Vor was twisted into a totem of horror. Like those outside of the palace, the clutch nearby is now used to corrupt our swarmborn. Recover the eggs of the Vor'thik before they are tainted. We shall raise them here.
