The Dreadsworn

The Dreadsworn is a quest for level 30-35 in Dread Wastes. It is step 14 of 72 in the Dread Wastes storyline. The quest's turn-in marker is in Dread Wastes at 55.1, 35.5. It rewards 4,800 experience and money.

Description

The Klaxxi see far and hear much. They have shared their insight with me.

The Vor'thik embrace the sha, using its power to fuel their march in this false swarm. Their warriors consume tainted amber and call themselves dreadsworn.

There is no future for them. They are waste which needs disposing.

And YOU will begin that process for us when you reach Kypari Vor.

I'm exalted with the Klaxxi, completed this quest, and am unable to do the turn-in since Malik is now dead. Oddly, I picked the up the quest from Halberd of the Unscathed (on the weapon rack) located behind Quartermaster Ambersmith Zikk, but can't do the turn in with Halberd. Unless there's a work around, better finish this quest line before you hit exalted.

You need to stear clear of the Giant Fear things (shadow-like) that are wandering around this area. Also, it helps to back-off when the dreadsworm starts twirling his sword. I died several times trying to complete this quest and drank potions like a conehead consuming six packs!

Before this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • In Her ClutchDread Wastes · Level 30-35

The crystal sings to the Klaxxi. They sense a paragon in the clutch, east of the tower. Clutch-keepers are trying to pollute this one. The Klaxxi will not permit this. Go and find the paragon. Place your hands on his chamber, and the Klaxxi will channel their whispers through you to break him free.

After this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • Concentrated FearDread Wastes · Level 30-35

Amber is power. It brings life. This... dread amber you brought me has been twisted. It is concentrated fear. The Vor'thik know this well. Their kypari has been completely engulfed by sha, and they use the dread amber to quicken their own swarmborn.
