You do not need to click on the dredgers, just run up near them to trigger the rescue.
Some of the dredgers you can run up to and it will count immediately, but if there's enemies nearby be sure to help them kill it or they won't count.
Seem to respawn at various intervals, so if you can't find any just keep checking, busy place today with people doing the new campaign.

Description
When Prince Renathal fled Darkwall Tower, he was forced to leave many people and belongings behind. The powerful relics and weapons were long ago carted off to the Master's lair. But the Prince's dredgers were forced to stay and serve the Master's traitorous lackeys here instead. You will be a welcome sight to them--a sign that the Prince has not forgotten them. If they are willing to fight, help them escape and I will ensure they are brought safely to Sinfall.

Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

Where this quest fits
Before this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- In the Shadow of our Failures
I will personally tend to the absolution of Kael'thas Sunstrider. His current state and trauma requires nothing short of perfect intervention and instruction to correct. I would welcome your assistance in this. I sense a bond between Kael'thas and yourself.
After this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- Learning to Sacrifice
Kael'thas remains unstable in his current state, bursting at the seams with anima. He is also an arrogant, selfish moron. Thankfully, I have a lesson that can address both concerns. True leaders sacrifice of themselves to empower those under their care.
