Or, you know, it could just be that this quest is about the heart of a harvest watcher mob. There is absolutely no similarity between this quest and that game. Not everything is a reference.
At first I though that this was a reference to The Wizard of Oz, but then I remembered that it was the Tin Man that wanted the heart.

Description
You have found what appears to be the heart of a harvest watcher. From the sound being emitted by the device you can tell that it's still fully functional. Perhaps you should return it to Farmer Saldean.
