I discovered Halgrind and Ember Clutch while flying to Westguard Keep, so that was an extra 1250 + 2000 = 3250 XP at level 73 for me (not counting Westguard itself or other areas that I might have visited before). I found this odd since most flights / boats don't usually credit you for discovering new areas while passing by them, but this particular one counted towards my Explore Howling Fjord achievement. I'm speculating that's because the Iron Rune Construct still counts as a regular pet / vehicle on this quest.

The quest line for this is as follows:

  1. Tools to Get the Job Done

  2. We Can Rebuild It

  3. We Have the Technology (concurrent with above - you need to do both to get next quest)

  4. Iron Rune Constructs and You: Rocket Jumping

  5. Iron Rune Constructs and You: Collecting Data

  6. Iron Rune Constructs and You: The Bluff

  7. Lightning Infused Relics

  8. The Delicate Sound of Thunder

  9. News From the East

I don't believe there is any prerequisite to starting this quest line.

What to do

StorylineHowling Fjord, step 34 of 162

Description

Westguard needs to know what's going on here, {name}. I want you to personally deliver the news to Captain Adams. Whenever you're ready, let me know and I'll put you back in the construct for one final flight. It'll take you to Westguard Keep, but more than likely blow up in the process. It's been a pleasure...

Where this quest fits

Before this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • The Delicate Sound of ThunderHowling Fjord · Level 10-30

The cavern that we opened at Baelgun's was the one place that most steered clear of... Can't say I blame 'em. The sound of thunder shot out of that cave, <name>! Loud, booming thunder! I think near the end, it was abandoned by all.

After this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • The Clutches of EvilHowling Fjord · Level 10-30

<name>, I don't trust anyone but you to take care of this. I need the proto-drake eggs and proto-whelps in the burning forest to the southeast destroyed! Since we arrived here, the Ember Clutch has been ablaze; there must be some sort of perverse magic at work. And lately it seems to be growing.
