First of all get the suit from the work bench behind the quest giver and go to the blue crystal with the 2 spinning globes around it and press 1
that's it
Once you have the quest, click on the table beside the quest giver to get into the 'golem' suit. Once in your golem suit, walk over to where Gwendolyn is, she's standing in a cart nearby. Beside the cart is a floating blue crystal. Some people above have been saying to press #1 however unless your key bindings are set to default, that might not work for some people who have set them to something else (like, Map). So if pressing #1 doesn't do anything then just press the actual 'Collect Data' button in your action bar. When that's done, click the red arrow in your action bar to 'Leave Vehicle'. Turn in the quest.

What to do
Description
The most important part of your job while controlling the construct is the collection of data. I've placed an iron dwarf relic in the cart over yonder. It's the floating, lightning infused crystal. Get on the work bench and I'll put you back in the construct. Once you're back in the driver's seat, use the construct's data collection ability to pick up the test data.
