Fly to Illidari Stand flight point in Aszuna, and travel due east to the Ruins of Nar'thalas area. You're looking for a half-ruined tower as soon as you enter the area. You might come to it from the north side, on higher ground, or the south side, on lower ground, so here are directions from either side:
- If you cross over a bridge, it will be the first building on your left, entrance at 51.9, 43.9, then down a curved staircase.
- If you cross over some water, it's just past a small gazebo-like shrine with a statue, on the right, entrance at 53.2, 43.0, up a few steps.
The [npc=104640] you want to kill has a 100% drop rate for the quest item, and respawns in a couple minutes if someone killed him before you got there.

Inside the ground level of some ruins. Took me ages to find them.

Description
I have a theory, {name}. Have you encountered the nightfallen elves of Azsuna? They descend from the Highborne, and the accomplishments of Highborne smiths are legendary. These fallen elves do a bit of arcane tinkering, crafting sentries to patrol their camps. Bring me a memory core from one of their constructs. Who knows what manner of smithlore might lie within!

Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

Where this quest fits
Before this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- The Properties of Leystone
I've never seen anything like this "leystone" ore. It's light, like mithril, but it carries much more of a magical energy... more even than saronite or elementium. Let's try making something with it. How about a nice pair of gauntlets?
After this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- Hatecoil Hammerwork
There may be a way to jump-start our research into leystone. I've heard reports of naga camps down in Azsuna. If they've been in Azsuna for long enough, their smiths have certainly started experimenting with leystone themselves. Be on the lookout for some leystone armor on the naga...
