This is a fairly straightforward quest. The item you get once you accept it, [item=60815] releases a gargoyle at the location you specify with the targeting reticle. Immediately south of where you picked up the quest is a field where seemingly infinite numbers of [npc=44944] are attacking the Opengut Behemoths. Simply use the item and target the ground in the general vicinity of one of the [npc=44944] six times to complete the quest.

You will not actually see any gargoyles until you release them with the item, so don't go looking for them!

This quest is part of a chain that culminates in a very neat cutscene, revealing some plot points for the Horde. As there are some spoilers, mouseover to read more!

What to do

StorylineWestern Plaguelands, step 41 of 63
Rewards10g 50s, 4,100 XP

Description

The battle started when they attacked us from the rear. I let my guard down, and a group of poorly-armed farmers and militiamen swung into our flank from the Writhing Haunt. They may be weak, but unchecked, they threaten to overwhelm us with their numbers. Lindsay's pet abominations can handle the melee combat. You take this collar, stay in the rear, and use it to release my ebon gargoyle upon these farmers.
