A Test of Courage

A Test of Courage is a quest for level 10-52 in Bastion. It is step 3 of 4 in The Spear of Kalliope storyline. The quest's turn-in marker is in Bastion at 51.2, 56.8. It rewards 1 reputation reward, 10,650 experience and money.

Description

I'm still new and haven't passed all of my Aspirant tests. But, I have an idea.

There is an artifact called Korinna's Allaying Crook. Korinna was a powerful Ascended who tamed the creatures of Bastion eons ago. Her staff has the power to prevent more creatures from succumbing to a savage, anima-starved state.

However, the artifact is protected and only one with great courage can retrieve it. I bet you could, <name>.

Go on ahead. The staff is in the reliquary to the north. I'll join you there shortly.

Beta servers, 31 Aug 2020 : this quest appears bugged. I must have killed dozens Anima-Starved Wyrms but there is no progress bar and eventually Zosime despawns. I have tried three times, once after a logout, with same results.

Before this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • Distractions for KalaBastion · Level 10-52

When the animals became aggravated, we left in a hurry. However, all of Kala's toys are still inside the garden. Since you are going to be there, would you please collect them? Kala may be very large, but she is still young. She can be a bit of a troublemaker as well.

After this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • Tough LoveBastion · Level 10-52

Heavens! Kala has flown off with Korinna's Allaying Crook! I saw her fly into her den to the west. I must warn you, she can become very protective when she's in there. Please be careful, but do not be afraid to give her some tough love. She is exceptionally resilient. Here, take her slobber ball.
