I can't control this crazy thing! Most annoying UI quest problems I've ever had. Finally figured it all out:

1. Mount the flying lion ("grounded wind rider") right next to the quest-giver.

2. Fly it around:

SPACE-BAR goes upwards,
X goes downwards,
otherwise forward / backwards / L / R / strafe-L / strafe-R are the same.

The strafe-L or -R is very useful (usually Q and E on your key-bindings) as is the "/" SLASH-KEY on number-pad. (Strafe moves you sideways. Slash toggles walking / running pace.)

3. Targeting:

Fly way way way up. I flew to max. Change your camera perspective so that you are looking way way way down (but you can continue to include yourself in the image if you wish). Locate the teeny-tiny white targeting circle, which is straight ahead of you on the ground some distance away. Move the lion so that your targeting circle is exactly on a target and then hit the bomb button. Wait a long time and you will see a teeny bomb finally drop and kaboom the target's gone.

Targets fade out, but maybe you can still kill them. Sometimes the Glaive Throwers seem to disappear if you wait too long, but I bombed an empty spot where a Glaive Thrower used to be and got credit for killing a Glaive Thrower anyway.

The Command Center is a building next to the bridge. It's square and has crossed peaks on its roof that form an X. Target the X.

Now that you've bombed 'em, look around. You can see a Golf Course (somebody's "Pleasure Palace" as mentioned?) next to a rocket pad. This quest gives you the chance to look 'round so you can drool in envy about the abilities and destinations that you can only access once you've levelled to where you have flying ability.

Quickest way to return is to jump off the lion and fall to the ground. The graveyard is right next to the quest-giver. >:)

Or you could use the X key to lower your altitude until you get to the ground. Low flying near enemies means damage (a Glaive flying at you from a Glaive Thrower is kinda cool but you're probably dead if you see one, the lion doesn't move very quick). You can just stay out of their range 100% of the time you're targeting them.

Keep hitting the space bar until you are quite quite high above the glaives. Make sure your perspective does not show you or your mount at all...you must be able to see the tiny targeter, which is not very easy to manipulate. Target a glaive and keep pounding #1 key until its been bombed out of existence. Watch your health meter to make sure you havent been hit with their flying blades. If you have, you can go back and get a new mount.

Description

{name}! Give us a hand here, will ya? Gorsch here had a bad experience at the all-you-can-eat seafood joint back in town, and now we're short a pilot. My job was to take out those elven glaive throwers before they cut our air units to ribbons. Hop on this wind rider and take to the skies! One of my bombardier buddies will ride with you and bomb the targets at your command. And hey! Chuck a bomb straight at the night elven command center - the large building south of here, beside the bridge. Glorious!
