Blackened Ashes (Horde)

Blackened Ashes is a Horde-only quest for level 15-30 in Burning Steppes. It is step 56 of 82 in the Burning Steppes storyline. The quest's turn-in marker is in Burning Steppes at 54.7, 24.5. It rewards 4,100 experience and money.

Description

I need you to do some more gathering before we can go take out the remainder of the Blackrock army. If we're going to do this, we're going to do it right, and that means being prepared.

I need ash, <name>. Not just any ash... ash from the greater obsidian elementals that roam the plains to the southeast. The stuff is deep, deep black, which is what we need for our next disguise.

Don't worry, you've already got a disguise. This one is for someone... well, someTHING... else.

Where to go

Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

Where this quest fits

Before this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • Flame CrestBurning Steppes · Level 15-30

Our work here in Chiselgrip is done, mostly thanks to you. We'll now be moving on to the northeast, to Flame Crest. Flame Crest is in the cliffs, past the Ruins of Thaurissan. It should serve as a sufficient base of operations for the final stages of our plan.

After this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • Latent Demons of the LandBurning Steppes · Level 15-30

The lava beds nearby - to the west - play host to flamekin, a brand of fire demon that has long roamed the steppes. Situations are such in the Blackrock army that, if we are careful, we may be able to sneak some of these flamekin behind enemy lines to cause some havoc.
