TheWoWDBGo outside of the tunnel where you got the quest. Look on your minimap at the quest zone (starts right outside). The items you need to use the Firim's Forge-Tap on are marked on the minimap as gold dots. But they are also easy to see, they are those big brown balls (lol) stuck in the ground. If they are zapable they will also have sparkle stars.

Hi all
You need to collect 40 [item=187519] by using [item=187516] on [npc=182136] ( is a big mid ir small Stone Orbs. Press [item=187516] next to them if will not work then move closer. I can't see any deferance between small and big [npc=182136] you will get random number ( i get max 4 from one ).

Description
The large metal spheres that litter the landscape of Zereth Mortis are spent forges, discarded during the creation process. These empty metal husks still contain residual materials of creation that may be useful to us. Use my Forge-Tap near these metal spheres to harvest any Remnant Neomotes. You may also find other useful proto-materials!
