Hornet Hunting

Hornet Hunting is an Alliance-only quest for level 5-30 in Loch Modan. It is step 18 of 35 in the Loch Modan storyline. The quest's turn-in marker is in Loch Modan at 81.8, 61.7. It rewards 1 reputation reward, 5,150 experience and money. Completing it counts toward 1 achievement.

Description

We're always looking for new game around here. Daryl may like his boars, but the rest of us prefer things more exotic.

Now, I'd never say the Loch draining was a good thing, but it did have a silver lining. The swampy ground's brought in new prey: Hornets!

Giant hornets, mind you. Not many hunters have tussled with massive bugs before. It's rather novel.

If you'd like to give it a try, I'll wager with you. Bring me back some of those nice glossy wings of theirs and I'll pay up.

Hornets can be found on the eastern shore and dried out lake bed of the Loch. The drop rate for the wings is around 33%.
Other creatures of interest in the area are Mudbelly Boars which are the targets of The Joy of Boar Hunting.
If you are lucky, you can run into Nix who also has a 33% chance of dropping a wing.
And of course, Ando Blastenheimer is standing there next to a crashed biplane. He has three quests for you if you follow the quest chain starting with Wing Nut.

Smells Like A PlanLoch Modan · Level 5-30
Murlocs workin' with gnolls? That's a laugh! Now, just killin' them won't get you anywhere. Too many of the buggers. But I've got a plan, usin' the old noggin, see. Those murlocs, they have this smell, they get that smell on stuff, and when another murloc smells it, they go all crazy!

After this quest

Foxtails By The HandfulLoch Modan · Level 5-30
We've seen more foxes in the hills lately. Cunning creatures, they are. A good test of a hunter's skills, and a fine profit to boot! It's their tails, lad. Fine and fluffy, they're just as good hung on yer belt to ward off fleas as they are to line the gloves of some fancy noble.
