Message for Matyas is a quest for level 10-58 in Revendreth. It is step 5 of 10 in The Duelist's Debt storyline. The quest's turn-in marker is in Revendreth at 60.2, 69.2. It rewards 5,950 experience and money.

Description

Alright. Everything is prepared. When you are ready, ask Courier Araak to summon Taskmaster Matyas as though you have just arrived.

I am sure a gift of a favorite drink will tempt him and the poison we've concocted will incapacitate him long enough to take my sinstone from him.

Our plan will work flawlessly!

The NPC interactions associated with this quest:

Spoiler
Nadjia the Mistblade says: I must hide now. Let Araak know when you are ready to send for Matyas. Then mix the poison into the bottle. This can only go well.

Nadjia runs off to hide as the player heads to speak with the courier.
Courier Araak: Is it really betrayal if you didn't get to pick your master in the first place?

The player responds with, "We are ready. Please tell the Taskmaster the Maw Walker is here."
Courier Araak says: You got it. I hope Nadjia is right and this works.

Courier Araak flies off and the player quickly finishes poisoning the wine just before Matyas arrives.
Courier Araak says: Maw Walker! Before you stands, er ... floats, Taskmaster Matyas of House Briarbane as requested.

Where this quest fits

Before this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • A Fine VintageRevendreth · Level 10-58

We will need something special to use as the base of our mixture. To get him to drink it down he will have to believe you've brought him a gift. He fancies himself quite the connoisseur. Some ancient and stuffy vintage will tempt him. Check the old cellar near the ruins. It once held supplies.

After this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • Comfortably NumbRevendreth · Level 10-58

A mortal in Revendreth. It's rumored that you can traverse the Maw? Astonishing. I have so many questions. But, I must restrain my curiosity. I have a ... shall we say ... proposition for you that I feel would be advantageous for us both.
