TheWoWDBCleared all the mobs outside, all the mobs in the hut/base/fort, all the mobs in the mine and the respawns again outside, prob 50+ mobs before the emerald dropped. Had to check that my level 19 wasn't in a raid I thought something was wrong with this quest drop. Just keep at it if you have this problem.

A quick way to the area, instead going all the way around the mountain. In town there is a incline right behind the windmill you can walk all the way up and go to the right and up again a little incline to just walk down the hill that is to the right of the cave. Must faster
