Preparations

Preparations is a quest for level 1-20 in Gilneas. It is step 79 of 100 in the Gilneas storyline. The quest's turn-in marker is in Gilneas at 69.3, 73.0. It rewards 1 reputation reward, 2,100 experience and money.

Description

What you know as the Curse began as a heresy among our brethren.

Faced with a losing battle against demonic forces, the Druids of the Pack eschewed the balance they were sworn to and allowed the beast to overtake them.

They were banished to the Emerald Dream where they live in eternal slumber under a tree identical to this one, but not before their curse spread to others.

Today our ceremony will restore balance to your people. Bring me the leaf that grows only in Tal'doren's vicinity.

The text of this quest, particularly the completion message, implies that there's something more to do. I expected a followup, and not receiving that, thought I might have something in my inventory, but it appears to just end here. Wowhead has no record of any other quests from this NPC.

Where to go

Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

Where this quest fits

Before this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • At Our DoorstepGilneas · Level 1-20

The night elves have taught us much during this time, <name>. They've taught us who we are and where we come from. Thanks to them... thanks to this place... we're no longer mere beasts. We have regained free will. The Forsaken aren't here for our land alone. They're looking for something we possess.

After this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • Take Back What's OursGilneas · Level 1-20

Ever since the Forsaken invaded Gilneas, we've tried to keep the location of the Scythe of Elune secret. We moved it at night to one of many safe locations. The Dark Rangers got close, but never found it... until now. They were last spotted at the Woods' End Cabin, west of here.
