There were two chests in the cave; one was "normal" and contained 1 gold, 7 ilver, and 28 copper, and an Unreliable Lodestone. The other was a "Reclaimed Treasure Chest" and contained 3 Prismatic Manapearl, 18 War Resources, and 2 Mucose Tendrils.

you regularly get these quests as you rank up your bodyguards. they typically reward things like benthic gear or crafting mats. once you bulk up your buddyguards a bit more you can get a pet, a toy, and a mount!
