Completing this quest gave 20 combat experience to all 3 of my bodyguards. Another piece of item I found gave 50 to a single one. There seems to be a pattern where these rare drops provide a "good" way to grind your bodyguards ranks earlier than the daily quests would allow. For now, wowhead doesn't track where any of these items drop, from which mobs, and at what droprate. I found that particular item while killing non-elite Reefwalkers. After killing a bunch of elites and non-elites, I can at least say those are somewhat rare.
