Rumor Has It

Rumor Has It is a group quest for level 45 in Suramar. It is step 7 of 10 in the Statecraft storyline. The quest's turn-in marker is in Suramar at 47.9, 82.9. It rewards 1 reputation reward, 7,700 experience and money.

Description

Coryn Stelleris and Ruven Duskmere were close friends, but one always overshadowed the other. Now the Stelleris family stands to gain from lord Ruven's death. Handsomely.

House Duskmere will soon learn of their loss. I want you to be the one to redirect their anger and grief.

A handful of well placed rumors should do the trick.

I won't be lingering in this part of the city for long, and Ly'leth will want to know of your efforts.

Return to her when you are finished.

This quest could have been so much better. It was perfectly set up to be like a hitman game where you are stealthing around avoiding detection, possibly doing things to pull guards out of place or knocking them out so you can get to your target, but instead it's setup such that you need to come in with a group of 5 and murder everyone or run in, tell your target the rumor, and then die to move on to the next target and repeat.

Where this quest fits

Before this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • Death Becomes HimSuramar · Level 45

There are two houses that pose a threat to Ly'leth's rise, but we concern ourselves with only one of them now. House Duskmere commands respect through fear and that fear is not unfounded. Few can boast of magical talent equal to that of Ruven Duskmere.

After this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • In the BagSuramar · Level 45

Already the city is abuzz with outrage. I will not lie to you- it pleases me greatly that one such as Coryn is made a fool. The other houses have sent their endorsements. It is done, and nothing remains but a formal ceremony to grant me the title of advisor. Meet me there.
