For those curious, "take a drink" only gives you a glass of arcwine which grants 1 ancient mana
If you are getting frustrated like I was because you hadn't completed all of Suramar and don't have flying yet. This is why. I am pretty sure this is how you complete the "A Growing Crisis" and also "Change of Seasons" quest chains, which are all bundled as part of the Samaritan chain although don't ask me why or what that means.
Once you accept the "Friends with Benefits" quest from the Lunastre Attendant (located in The Waning Crescent building where the repair and food vendors are), you need to return to Thalyssra to turn in. Thalyssra will have moved slightly and there is new activity in Shal'Aran as you will note. A glowing electricity coming from the tree you planted is evident.
Back in Shal'Aran, First Arcanist Thalyssra will have a ? over her head for turn in and Valewalker Farodin will have a quest. Thalyssra will then have two new quests for "Arcway: Opening the Arcway" and "Court of Stars: Beware the Fury of an Angry Elf".
Valewalker Farodin will have the quest for "A Growing Crisis".
[NOTE: If you accept a drink from the Lunastre Attendant you get an arcwine that gives you one ancient mana point.]
Also while exploring the new cavern in Shal'Aran. Disappointed there is more to the caverns but nothing really important otherwise.
