Done most of the quests in here, got the drop and it says I don't meet the requirements. Bug? Any other suggestions?

EDIT: Found the problem. I started the EP quests from Light's Hope Chapel and worked my way towards Stratholme. Turns out you have to do the Caravan questline which starts at the border WP/EP until the part where you go look for Tarenar Sunstrike on the road close to Stratholme. There you get the quest Guardians of Stratholme which involves killing Omasum Blighthoof and Karthis Darkrune for the item which starts this quest. If you kill them prior to this it will be useless and just take up inventory space.

Just a note since none of the other comments mention it. Unlike other items that start quests, this wont start automatically upon looting it. This is because you need to have completed the quest to kill the death knights that actually drop the item first before being able to accept the quest. This also means that until you accept the quest, it'll have a marker on your world map that a quest is at one of the ziggurats, even if you have the item in your inventory. Overall, it was an odd choice to make this quest start from a drop, rather than just making the "kill the death knights" quest end with you turning in the missive as some objective of its own like "Learn Gidwin's Location".

Description

The note is from Baroness Anastari, and it describes a ritual that is about to happen in the Plaguewood's central slaughterhouse - just south of where Tarenar is at. This could be where they're holding Gidwin! Tarenar will want to know about this... and quickly, before it's too late!
