If, for whatever reason, you can't figure out how to get past the grabby hands, Demonic Gateway works just fine.

Unable to complete(or rather, begin) this quest. After finishing "!The Fate of Deadwind" the quest giver, "Revis" simply disappears. I've tried reloading, disabling addons, leaving the zone and returning...I've tried completing all of Kadgars quests in the area. I even submitted a ticket to customer service and was told to abandon and start over but that's not an option as I can't get the quest in the first place. Revis simply isn't there. There is mention of others having this same issue below but no fix or work-around. Guess, I never get to obtain the Warlock Affliction artifact...but hey! Small indie company, what can ya say? At least we don't pay a subscription fee for this buggy mess-oh wait!
Update: there is a Demonic Gateway button that pops up in the Objectives pane. It wasn't working for me, and I thought it was due to the spell not being learned. However, after I disabled all my interface addons, the button worked just fine and I was able to use the Demonic Gateway button in the Objectives pane.

What to do
Description
There's a sewer grate along the edge of the river leading to catacombs underneath Karazhan. I've never paid it much attention, but it could be where the spirits are directing us. To think, the Dark Riders may have been under our noses this entire time! Come, let us see where this leads.
Where to go
Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

Where this quest fits
Before this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- The Fate of Deadwind
The journal mentions a "stronger pull" for the compass. If the spirits of this place are indeed tied to it, they may serve as the pull we need. I've come upon several locations in the pass where restless spirits tend to appear.
After this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- The Power Possessed
I was wrong about you, warlock. Your assistance against the Dark Riders has proven a great service to the Light. Perhaps I should not be so quick to judge. Nevertheless, you have allowed me to fill my purpose in returning these artifacts to their rightful owners.
