When you pick up the Fine Leather Journal, be sure you have inventory space because you "create" Partially Soaked Pages when you do. If you are unable to create the pages then you will not be able to complete the quest. A little FYI I learned after a few moments of bewilderment.
This quest also rewards a book called "Partially Soaked Pages". The book reads:
<Most of the pages are soaked in water, you can make out a few passages.>
The battle is more fearsome then I could have imagined.
All around us, I hear the booming of Horde artillery.
Their shells rain upon the deck above, and the screams of the crew are drowned out only by the roar of return fire.
Admiral Taylor bade me hide here, in the hold, until the fighting ceases.
They have posted guards outside my door.
I feel restless, I should be out there, helping them!
Those that did not perish in the initial battle were lost in the ensuing storm.
As our battered ships fought their way through rain and fog, the most critically injured succumbed to their injuries.
I did what I could to staunch their wounds, but it was not enough.
Why am I always too late to save my friends?
I awoke in the middle of the night to the sound of a great, loud noise, like thunder.
The ship was running aground on the rocks.
The ship groaned and listed, and shouts and screams erupted on deck.
I rushed to the door of my cabin, but my bodyguard locked me inside.
There is nothing I can do now but wait.
The Sapphire has washed up on an unfamiliar shore. The ship is still, and all around me, I hear silence.
No one has come for me and I fear that the crew is dead.
The cabin is filling with water, so I must find a way out soon.
If any Alliance soldier finds this, know that I, Prince Anduin Wrynn, am alive.
I am going to travel inland and search of food and aid.
Please tell my father that I am well. This is a lore item only, and it may be safely deleted once you are finished with it.

What to do
Description
Alright, soldier. I've got a critical mission for you. Get down to the coastline south of here - in the cove there you'll find a wrecked Alliance vessel. I need you to search it and find out if it was the ship that was carrying Anduin. Then, recover the Captain's Log and see if it has any information on where we can find him. Since the log is from a military ship, it'll be written using a cipher - take it to Nodd Codejack afterwards. He's keeping watch on the wreck from the other end of the cove.

We've located an Alliance wreck to the south. Unfortunately, the locals have informed us that it's currently being scavenged by a group of creatures called "hozen." By pillaging our wrecked ships, these creatures have already shown that they aren't friendly.
