Doesn't she mean "Sundering"? Shattering is supposed to be a different name for "Cataclysm". And that happened in universe around 15 years ago. Doesn't seem too old for an artifact. Sundering is the big event at the foundation of World of Warcraft story that happened 10000 years ago.
