TheWoWDBDon't leave after looting the key from the end boss, you'll have to open the prison inside of the instance.
If you miss it, you can do it solo by entering the instance from Dalaran. Stand back and wait for the mobs to reach the guards, then run past them and unlock the prison. Lyndras has ~5m hp, so it shouldn't be too hard to burn him down quickly, before the other mobs lose interest in the guards and come after you.

Description
With Lyndras being locked up in Violet Hold, you feel responsible for him and must discover the truth behind his actions. Perhaps if you were able to speak with him, you could find a way to have him released from the hold and put back into your custody. Go into Violet Hold and find out what happened to Lyndras.
