Data Mining (Horde)

Data Mining is a Horde-only quest for level 25-30 in The Storm Peaks. It is step 33 of 113 in The Storm Peaks storyline. The quest's turn-in marker is in The Storm Peaks at 39.5, 41.7. It rewards 4,100 experience and money.

Description

That disk you assembled... it's blank! Keeper Mimir, the tinker who built this library, must've hidden the information elsewhere. Look around the Inventor's Library; do you see any databanks there?

That might be the disk's purpose. Try using it near some of those databanks. Perhaps it's set to retrieve and store information from them. After you've tried your hand at that, contact me again and let me know what you've found. Meanwhile, I'll be trying to track down the other half of the archive key.

Use the Inventor's Disk(in your inventory) to the Databank(ball looking thing floating near Library Gaurdians)

Databank is around 39, 42

When you're done, use your Brann's Communicator(in your inventory) to summon Brann Bronzebeard to turn in the quest.

You have to sit through the whole duration of the channeling.

Also you can be at a pretty far range and use your disk. You don't have to be underneath it, lol.

Edit:

Hey I won't get in trouble from downloading from these databanks will I? I mean there's like 50 other gnomes doing it too...

Where to go

Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

  • Pieces of the PuzzleThe Storm Peaks · Level 25-30

We've seen the iron dwarves and their constructs making war on the creatures of stone that Brann calls the earthen, along with their giant allies.

After this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • The Library ConsoleThe Storm Peaks · Level 25-30

Norgannon's shell is within our reach, <name>. Take the inventor's disk into the library's interior. There should be a console there that you can activate with the disk. I imagine Mimir stored more there than just Norgannon's shell.
