The artifacts are in small mounds of snow on the ground. So you should be looking for little patches of snow to click on.

It has the same icon as the former race ability and the flavor text:
"A remnant from a previous generation of dwarves."
There's been a change to the quest item appearance in 6.0.2: it now appears as a tablet rather than a pile of snow.

Description
{name}, my boy! Are you into archaeology? We've an exciting opportunity right outside our front door. All the shaking from today's seismic event has knocked a number of artifacts loose from the soil around our encampment. Survey along the valley's northern border, and you should find all sorts of treasures. Bring some back to me, and perhaps we can study them together. Right, then! Off you go!
Where to go
Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

Before this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- All the Other Stuff
If we're going to be on lockdown for any extended period o' time, we're gonna need some food, and some blankets to keep the wee ones warm. Would ye mind headin' outside and gatherin' up some supplies? Ye'll find that a few o' the small boars actually have some healthy-sized haunches...
After this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- Make Hay While the Sun Shines
The trogg village to the southwest suffered similar damage to ours. One would assume, logically, that there would be some trogg artifacts sticking out of the ground, too! Unfortunately, it looks like most of the artifacts have already been scooped up by trogg scavengers.
