Dustwind Dig

Dustwind Dig is an Alliance-only quest for level 15-30 in Badlands. It is step 11 of 53 in the Badlands storyline. The quest's turn-in marker is in Badlands at 49.3, 36.9. It rewards 1 reputation reward, 525 experience and money.

Description

I've got an idea, but it's a bit of a long shot. Thankfully, long shots happen to be a specialty of mine.

North of here, the Explorers' League has uncovered a new set of titan ruins beneath the sands. If there's anything older and wiser than dragons, it's titans. Heck, I've heard rumors that the titans CREATED the dragons.

Talk to Lead Prospector Durdin at the camp to the north. He'll have more information than I do about these titans.

What did I tell you? It's a long shot.

Just behind the site, and up the hill a bit, there's a crypt of interest. Inside the room, you'll find a small campfire burning, and skeletal remains. One skeleton in particular stands out. It is seated, and is holding a sword in it's hand. Clearly a reference to the scene from Conan the Barbarian, where he's given his freedom and is chased into a cave/crypt by wild dogs. It's where he finds a seated skeleton and takes the sword it's holding.

If you go inside, you might also find a rare:

I'll need some time to analyze these samples, as well as a break from this trogg-shooting duty. Go man one of my turrets and take out as many troggs as you can. I'll be here studying.

First things first, though. I'm not just going to sit here and tell you everything we've discovered down in those ruins. We've got problems to take care of! Most pressing is those upstart Reliquary hooligans, just on the other side of the tomb. They're makin' off with all of our loot!
