You can't take photos of these from the ground . At the west and east ends of the quest area, there are tall rocks where the rocs are hanging out and can be photographed.
And don't mount, fly up and then try to take a picture. That does not end well.
Land on the perch at 75.7, 30.6. You will see a number of them flying by, and several sitting behind you on the rock
Note: The next 2 quests require you to interact with 7 birds as well, so remember this location (and the ground below it)
There are two perches on which you can complete this quest (and the next few ones) quickly :

Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

The shielding device you helped with has been tested. It is ready for its first flight, if you will forgive the turn of phrase. Speak with Om'torid. They have a course picked out for you and the k'arroc to soar along.

<name>--just the person I needed! The k'arrocs are gettin' so dirty that it's covering up their natural smell. There's not enough water here for them to bathe! Take this anima vacuum. It'll take that dirt straight off 'em, but you're gonna have to stick to the ones on the ground.
Hard Kalroc has 8 steps, from Being Spiritual to Making Stuff to Look Tough.
