Leave Every Soldier Behind (Horde)

Leave Every Soldier Behind is a Horde-only quest for level 15-40 in Gorgrond. It is step 28 of 39 in the In the Land of Giants storyline. The quest's turn-in marker is in Gorgrond at 43.9, 48.9. It rewards 5,450 experience and money.

Description

Hmmm.

The ogron possess something of value to the Iron Horde. I'm sure they're unaware, likely just bored and in need of something to torture.

I'd be inclined to just let them be, it's a fate they deserve. But we can't afford not to follow up on this clue. With any luck, it will help us stop the Iron Horde from turning Gorgrond's most fearsome creatures into weapons.

Try to find this Corporal Thukmar and his notes. We'll meet you there.

In Gorgrond in the Gronn Canyon, head to the cave at co-ords 43.5, 48.0. You can either go down the ramp killing as you go, or use a slow fall ability or item & just jump down the the middle facing left / west. I did the latter with Levitate. The co-ords inside the cave are different from outside (zone changes to Fissure of Fury as you enter cave, instead of Gronn Canyon). Now you need to head for co-ords 44.6, 86.0. To do this, head to the west side of cave first, to get out of the centre main room. You should see the skull on your map for the rare Gelgor of the Blue Flame to the north-west. When you are out of the main room on the outer edge, just follow it south and around to the south-east to Thukmar. His research is right next to him.

Hope this helped.

If you didn't loot the research and go back down below, not only is his research next to where his body was, but another quest will pop up nearby at a Goren mound. (quest: A Great Escape) It will help you get to the top quickly instead of fighting everything again.

Where this quest fits

Before this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • Fair WarningGorgrond · Level 15-40

The ogron here are far from brilliant, but they are more intelligent than the gronn. They're large, and even stronger than they look. Their leader, Borogahn, is especially formidable. Despite several fights, I have not yet managed to kill him. Heed my words, friend.

After this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • Chains of IronGorgrond · Level 15-40

The artifact we seek is within our grasp. Be prepared for a fight. If they truly have learned how to control gronn, this may be more difficult than I anticipated. I will join you in this battle as soon as you arrive.
