To prepare for the hunt, I must fashion a loud horn from the horns of the dire rams that roam the snowy areas near our camp. The elders tell me the sound mimics the mating call of the female yeti, but I have my doubts.

Pretty misleading quest text imo, doesn't mention that the actual rams you need are the frosthorn rams. Maybe obvious but I spent a few minutes riding around looking for dire rams ;<

For this quest you kill the mobs name Frosthorn Ram. They are found right outside of Camp Winterhoof. The coordinates are 51.6, 10.6 . These mobs will drop the quest item that you need, called Undamaged Ram Horn. This quest item has a Drop Rate of around 30%. You need 6 of these.

Note:: Do the quest Hasty Preparations at the same time.

Description

My people have been hunting the giant yeti of these hills for generations and I will be participating for the first time this year. It will probably be the last before we leave the post forever. To prepare for the hunt, I must fashion a loud horn from the horns of the dire rams that roam the snowy areas near our camp. The elders tell me the sound mimics the mating call of the female yeti, but I have my doubts. Bring me the best dire ram horns you can find, {name}, and I'll select one from among them.

Where to go

Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

Where this quest fits

Before this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • Suppressing the ElementsHowling Fjord · Level 10-30

If you are to survive here, as we have, you must learn to face the environment's challenges head on. The elements will claim your life if you're not vigilant, as the proliferation of elementals in these northern hills shows. We must cull the elementals one last time before we can leave this place.

After this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • Mimicking Nature's CallHowling Fjord · Level 10-30

The horn has been roughed out, but before I make the traditional carvings, I want to be certain that it will work. Ahota tells me that he tests his horns at the foot of the frozen waterfall to the northeast of the post.
