Paddle to Safety

Paddle to Safety is an Alliance-only quest for level 10-60 in Tiragarde Sound. It is step 14 of 20 in The Shadow Over Anglepoint storyline. The quest's turn-in marker is in Tiragarde Sound at 35.2, 24.2. It rewards 1 reputation reward, 8,150 experience and money.

Description

Perhaps... perhaps I can still help my people.

I overheard conversations between the foreman and his men. It sounds as if the source of this corruption comes from the deeper waters, where the Stormriggers do their monster hunting.

Please, assist me in investigating this. I can still redeem myself and this operation.

For those who may not have worked it out or who know, this entire quest chain is a reference to H.P. Lovecraft's "Shadows Over Innsmouth" story. It is also a reference to the Bloodborne "The Old Hunters" DLC, which takes heavy influence from the aforementioned Lovecraft Story.

Before this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • Enemy WithinTiragarde Sound · Level 10-60

I won't sugarcoat it, kid. It's a madhouse here. The leadership has fallen, selling their own souls as well as the souls of the workers to some darker forces. I will not give in. Overseer Bates surrendered the guard in his hunger for power. Show him that he is a fool.

After this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • Those Aren't Fish EggsTiragarde Sound · Level 10-60

Corruption has seeped into the sea. Part of our job is to keep the monsters of these parts under control. A cruel magic has taken over many of the beasts. I take the challenge of the hunt with pride, but too many and we are overrun!
