Alexstraza really comes across poorly in this questline. You're like "Uh, the Dragonkin feel like you abandoned them for 10,000 years and then started making demands of them as soon as you showed back up" and her response is basically "Gee, I never really considered that these lesser creatures may have had actual thoughts and feelings."

While the writing does paint a poor picture of Alexstrasza, can I just say how much of a breath of fresh air it is that we're taking the talk it out option instead of just brute force fighting for once?
None of the "rebels" gave a single valid excuse for justifying murder and violence in the name of supposedly wanting "fairness" and having a "choice". And the whole notion that hey nobody asked us if we wanted to fight, well obviously they had no problem with fighting since that's what they proceeded to do all in the name of not wanting to fight? Sorry how does that make sense again? We don't want to fight for the Aspects to defend Azeroth against people who literally want to burn the planet so we'll help those people destroy the world instead of defending it because we were asked to help burn it instead of being asked to defendt it? Does nobody think critically or use logic anymore?
Look at Emberthal's story in Blizzard's Dragonflight Legacies Chapter Three https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=br3QBFfqpGA when Nozdormu took her back in time to see what Neltharion did to them and gives her this whole spiel about them being free to make their own destiny. So tell me again how the Aspects gave them no choices?
We quested throughout the Dragon Isles and not one single time did we see anything of dragons treating anyone as a slave or as if they had no choices. Obeying orders, yes becuase that's what soldiers do. Don't want to be a soldier that's your choice to not be there but how are they supposed to know you don't want to be there if you don't speak up! Which brings me to my biggest pet peeve about this whole thing. Not a single freaking "rebel" ever spoke up and said a word to the Aspects about "unfair treatment" or they didn't want to do yada yada yada until AFTER they were caught! They literally are nothing but whiny, sulky children throwing a tantrum because they got caught with their hand in the cookie jar of extremely morally wrong choices and are now trying to shift the blame on to someone else. Otherwise we would have completed a quest at some point where a would be rebel asked our help to speak for them regarding all this rampant "unfairness" and "no choices" they were supposedly going through. But we didn't so ya this is total garbage. This whole quest line was extremely sloppy and lazy writing on the part of Blizzard. It sounds like someone went "hey we're short on time to do some real writing so how can we wrap this up real quick and throw a little nod in to social justice while we're at it?".

What to do
Description
My goal is to see this rebellion brought to an end, with as little violence as possible. To do that, I need to understand the root causes of this rebellion. The rebels have clearly come to resent the Aspects and the dragonflights. And while we had to use force to protect Valdrakken, that hasn't brought about an end to the rebellion. I'd like you to speak to the prisoners, and ask why they rebelled. I'll accompany you to hear their reasons.

Where this quest fits
Before this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- Temporary Accommodations
We've been sending the rebel prisoners to Steelcliff Rampart. It's the barracks where Valdrakken's city guard, the Scalesworn, are based. So there are plenty of guards to keep them from causing harm or escaping.
After this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- Solicited Opinions
That was enlightening, to say the least. The rebels we talked to had a lot to say which I wouldn't have anticipated. I have my thoughts on the situation, but what did you think of their grievances? As neither a dragon nor dragonkin, you bring a certain objectivity to the matter.
